Meet the expert staff of 'Clipper Odyssey' who may join you on your voyage:

Cheli Larsen has been expedition leader on voyages aboard 'Clipper Odyssey' and other ships, travelling extensively throughout Alaska, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the South Pacific. Cheli spent three years in the Great Barrier Reef conducting marine-turtle research. Her studies in orcas led to her involvement with BBC's The Blue Planet and as a field assistant with TVNZ Natural History Unit during filming of the orca documentary Killers I Have Known, commissioned by The Discovery Channel, as well as on The Blue Planet.

Marcia Meagher, born in Australia and a current resident of New Zealand, has escorted travellers all over the world, including throughout the Russian Far East and Alaska. Before she entered the travel industry, Marcia was a teacher who specialized in cultural exchange programs. Her passion for travel and exploring remote and adventurous destinations evolved from spending a decade in the wilderness areas of the Canadian Rockies.

DR. T. H. Baughman, a professor at the University of Central Oklahoma, has taught Russian and European history for more than 30 years. An author of six books, Tim has led travelers through Europe for 25 year, lectures on European and polar history and teaches 20th-century European history. Tim brings the past of eastern Russia and Siberia alive and illuminates your understanding of contemporary Russia.

Chris Cutler is a naturalist and field biologist whose research and travels have taken him to remote locales. He has engaged in applied ecological studies of rare and threatened species of birds and mammals with a focus on their conservation. Chris has spent a great deal of along the shores of remote areas of the Bering Sea (Russia and Alaska), in search of birds and marine mammals.

Dr. Jane Sproull Thomson teaches native art and culture at the University of Calgary and the Glenbow Museum, and until recently served as Curator of Art for Red Deer College. She is a research associate and life member of the Arctic Institute of North America; former Curator of Ethnology at the Glenbow Museum, Calgary; and former Archaeology Curator and Chief Curator of the Newfoundland and Labrador Museums system.

Chris Harbard is a well-known UK ornithologist and conservationist who lives in Cambridgeshire. After 24 years with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Chris is now a freelance author and broadcaster. He serves on the editorial advisory panel and writes for Birdwatch magazine and its website. Additionally, Chris edits the Birdwatchers' Guides series and contributes to BBC natural history programs.

Dr. Daria Nikitina received her undergraduate and master's degrees in geomorphology and volcanology from Moscow State University. Her master's thesis focused on volcanoes of southern Kamchatka and Kurils Volcanic Arc. Her other research interests include coastal changes related to sea level rise, increase in severe storms' and hurricanes' intensity and climate change. She is currently on the teaching staff of West Chester University in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jason Hicks, who has his PhD in geology, is a research associate with the Department of Earth Sciences at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Between degrees he worked in Alaska as a gold mine geologist, gaining his pilot's license and a lifetime hobby of flying vintage aircraft. He has developed a technique to date rocks that he has used on field expeditions throughout the world.

Sergey Frolov is a Russian-born mariner and explorer who has lived many years in the Siberian Arctic. Yup'ik Eskimos taught him to build the umiaks (walrus-skin boats) that took him and the Eskimo elders across the Bering Strait to Alaska three timesto reunite Eskimo families separated by the Cold Wat. In 1992, Sergey brought the first foreign-flag expedition ship to Kamchatka and has led many voyages to this region since.

Dr. Mark Brazil, a UK native, has been fascinated with natural history (and birds) since his youth. He conducted research on avian ecology and behavior in Iceland, earning him a PhD from Scotland's Stirling University. He has travelled extensively, leading natural history-based tours, guiding wildlife photographers and serving as a consultant for television companies. Mark currently resides in Hokkaido, Japan, and is a leading authority on the natural history of Japan.

Dr. John Harwood has his doctorate in microbiology from the University of London. Since 1978, John has lived and worked in the Brazilian Amazon developing various projects related to non-petroleum energy sources. John brings his extensive knowledge and experience of the biological world to all corners of the globe as a lecturer on various expedition cruise programs.

Charles Wheatley is marine biologist, oceanographer, research diver and photographer. Charles has worked as a marine naturalist with the Scripps Aquarium and as a teacher of oceanography and environmental sciences in San Diego. Since 1987 he has participated in more than 180 sea voyages across the globe.
